1.
Just trying to hard to stay between the lines Wondering where this road would take us And what the signs were trying to teach us But we are fast asleep Mile markers like heartbeats pointing me in only one direction Painfully sure and endlessly organizing my need to disappear And now I feel adrift All answers hidden or vanished before me Did I sustain? Would I sustain? Because we were blind to the ways That we could not help but stray from Some might just call them short cuts But is it just cut short?
2.
I won’t miss the summer Cause I’m the one who waits There’s no one here to tell her That all the cars are away. Bitter afternoon colors In a city I can’t shake My room is getting darker And I’m the one who waits My beard is getting longer A little blue at the tips I spoiled a white girl’s summer Stretched out her old fever I stay up too late In the city that I hate Listen to Dylan records And Boots of Spanish Leather There’s boys in dinner jackets Circling girls that I can’t reach And I think about you often And the dirt between your knees I’m still folded in my room Wasteland in the heat There’s no one here to tell her Her hands feel just like spiders Her hands feel just like spiders Her hands feel just like spiders Her hands feel just like spiders

about

This is the release of the fourth in a series called Splitsville—a collaborative project between bands and artists, in which (rather than recording and releasing a split 7 inch or CD) download codes for brand new songs are imbedded on the back of a nice art print provided by a local or regional artist and offered for a reasonable price. This incarnation will feature songs by A University of Whales & Post Sixty Five paired with a print of a work by Molly Freeman. During the event, Molly will display some of her works, and the bands will play, with special guest Breakers (a previous Splitsville participant!)

released July 22, 2016

All songs were recorded at Dismemberment Room in Charlottesville by Nate Bolling. Parts of 'Changing Symptoms' were recorded by Hicham Benhallam at his home.

Artist: Molly Freeman is a Charlottesville, VA native whose art is influenced by tattoos and tattoo culture after spending the past 5 years working as a tattoo artist. She began creating these complex patterns and mandalas as a form of artistic meditation and as a way to explore and push the boundaries of color and color relationships. The Splitsville piece, like many of her others, was done in acrylic and then layered with colored pencils.
