“Raw Ramp” was born out of caffeine fueled road brain chat between Thomas Dean and Jordan Perry on New Years Day, 2015. Discussing the possibility of covering the song “Raw Ramp” by Marc Bolan and T.rex, they decided instead to write a lyrical concept based around the ramp vegetable, the lyrical structure of the original, and a dream had by Perry a few years prior in which a friend appealed to him to stop eating meat. Dean wrote the music along with keyboardist and singer Chelsea Blakely and a new angle on Raw Ramp was born.
